THE HOMEWORK REFLECTS WHAT YOUR CHILD HAS BEEN LEARNING EACH DAY IN SCHOOL. Homework Includes: *20 minutes of reading *Sight words practice *Math
Reading homework will look different at the beginning of the year. You or an older sibling may read to them every night or your child will create his or her own story by looking at the pictures. As the year progresses your child will take over and begin to read on their own. Your child will also have the opportunity to check out books from the school library in which the books will vary in difficulty. Some weeks your child will be able to read the library books to you but other weeks you or an older sibling may have to read to the child.
You will record the books read each night in your child's reading log. Sign the reading log even if your child brings home the same book for a few days. It is perfectly okay! Homework Expectations: Your child's name and date is written on the top of the paper. All work is done neatly to the best of your child's ability. Your child will point to all the words when reading. Your child tries his or her best!
